Their overnight visit in 2008 was assessed over 8 overnight stays which we passed with flying colours. The second visiting inspector was very impressed with the guest house and loved the four poster room. We replaced VisitEngland with the AA in 2012 (same standards).We dont pay to subscribe to award schemes (such as best B&B; or best breakfast) so we can offer you even more to ensure you have a comfortable stay, all at no extra cost. Our product and service level is testament to our commitment to you, our only priority. As a result we were awarded 5 STARS for Service & Hospitality in 2011.Our guest house maintains a continuous improvement program throughout the year. 2012, our last few rooms have been renovated with new wallpaper, additional floorboards to help with soundproofing, new carpets and completely new en-suites. The Old Rectory, originally a yorkshire longhouse is dated 1691 on a door lintel. Extended in 1860 the interior is relaxed and comfortable with a fresh fusion of styles and each room will make you feel that you aren't quite ready to leave. The North York Moors National Park extends over 563 square miles and would take a lifetime to explore in detail. Within the park there is a variety of scenery rarely encountered within a single region. The coastline is one of dramatic cliffs and small picturesque villages. The appeal of the moorland lies in its open aspect with wide expanses and panoramic views. The dales present a softer pastoral scenery with farmland and woodland surrounding the delightful villages, churches, abbeys and castles. Kildale is an estate, not just a village. For the past 900 years it has been owned by only three families. Today all of the farms in Kildale and almost all of the houses are still owned by the estate and are let to people who live permanently in the dale.
