Big Bear Lodge is a wood clad lodge with the feel throughout of a luxury ski chalet set within 4 acres of land. Miles from the main road yet only 20mins from the medieval market town of Shrewsbury it is a truly off the beaten track escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Big Bear Lodge has three en-suite luxury appointed and individually designed rooms.

Each room has a brand new wet room with waterfall shower, king size beds with 400 thread count Egyptian cotton bed linen. tea and coffee making facilities, flat screen TV, WiFi, full sized wardrobe. Big Bear Breakfast: Enjoy our cooked to order full English breakfast with your choice of our free range eggs, locally sourced bacon and sausages, tomatoes, mushrooms and beans. Cereals, toast, juice, fresh teas and coffee. Vegetarian sausages available. Guests can enjoy a real log fire, comfortable seating, drinks on the balcony sun terrace with views across our 4 acres of fields. New to Big Bear lodge is a two bedroomed Holiday let sleeping up to 5 people plus room for additional z bed/travel cot. The let is self contained with a fully equipped kitchen. The balcony off the lounge lets you enjoy the breathtaking country views. Please contact us for prices for a weeks stay or we can accommodate shorter stays subject to availability. We also have Canadian Camping Pods open in the heart of the English Countryside at Melverley in Shropshire where the rivern Severn and Vyrnwy meet. Each cabin sleeps upto 4 people. Just bring your camping gear without the tent! In its simpliest form its a insulated empty wooden Pod. Doubled glazed windows and doors with blinds for privacy. Heated so you can come all through the winter. Electric sockets. Toilets and rainfall showers within a few meters. *Important*: Please do not forget your sleeping mats and bedding as the Canadian camping pod is just a shell. Open all year round

  Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner, Gary who is very enthusiastic and friendly.

  We were given the tour of the lodge and shown to our pod we were in. Having not known quite what to expect the pods are great. It's camping without the agony of putting up a tent in high winds and torrential rain. Our pod had a heater inside which was put on during the evening and heated the pod for hours afterwards due to the good insulation. The bathroom and showering facilities were also very good with good pressured overhead showers. We did not take up the offer for breakfast in the morning but with the visitors pack containing places to eat for the evening food was sorted for the night of our stay!. The experience was brilliant and I will be looking to do it again soon. Yes it's more expensive than traditional camping but the benefits far outweigh the extra cost. We didn't put up a tent, we stayed dry inside and we most importantly hadn't blown away in the morning!
